If you’re looking for a counsellor in Yiewsley, there are two easy ways to start: in-person sessions at my practice a few minutes north in Uxbridge, or secure online sessions you can join from anywhere in Yiewsley, West Drayton or the wider UB7 area. I’m Lydia Nightingale, a person-centred counsellor (BA Hons, Dip, MBACP) with over fifteen years’ experience, working with individuals and couples.
Person-centred counselling for Yiewsley
Person-centred counselling begins from a quietly hopeful idea: that you already carry the understanding of your own life, even when it feels tangled. My role isn’t to label you or hand you a fix, but to sit with you in a warm, confidential space where you can think out loud and feel properly heard. Yiewsley can be a busy, in-between sort of place, the Grand Union Canal slipping behind a working High Street, with West Drayton and Cowley either side, and when your own thoughts feel just as crowded, one calm and dependable hour each week gives you somewhere steady to set them down.
What people bring to counselling
- Anxiety, stress and low mood, feeling on edge, weary, or somehow not quite like yourself of late.
- Relationship and couple difficulties, as a Couple Counselling Practitioner I work with partners together as well as one-to-one.
- Grief and bereavement, a recent loss still raw, or an older one that has quietly come back to the surface.
- Work, change and feeling stuck, burnout, an unsettling transition, or a choice you can’t seem to land.
Getting to sessions from Yiewsley
The journey is short and simple. By car the A408 runs north to central Uxbridge, where the practice is based, in around ten minutes, and the U3 and U5 buses link Yiewsley straight into town. West Drayton station on the Elizabeth line, just to the south, also connects the area quickly across West London. If a weekly trip is hard to fit around shifts, family or work, online counselling is often the more realistic option, every bit as private and personal, joined from your own front room. A slow walk along the canal towpath can be a gentle way to gather yourself before or after a session.
Sessions, fees and your free first call
Individual sessions last 50 minutes (£70) and couples sessions 60 minutes (£95), usually weekly or fortnightly to begin with, for as long, or as short, a time as feels right for you. Nothing is decided on the spot: we start with a free, no-obligation 20-minute telephone consultation, so you can ask questions and get a feel for how I work before booking anything.
Whatever you’re carrying, there’s a way in
You’re welcome to explore the areas I work with most often: relationship and couples counselling, anxiety, stress and self-esteem, grief and bereavement, and work and career wellbeing. I also offer specialist, trauma-informed support for survivors of domestic abuse. Close to Yiewsley, I also see people from neighbouring West Drayton, Cowley and Hillingdon.
