If you’re looking for counselling in Hillingdon, my practice is just minutes away in neighbouring Uxbridge, or we can meet online wherever you are in the UK. I’m Lydia Nightingale, a person-centred counsellor (BA Hons, Dip, MBACP) with over fifteen years’ experience, working with individuals and couples from right across the Hillingdon area (UB8 and UB10).
Person-centred counselling for Hillingdon
Person-centred counselling starts from a simple idea: you are the expert on your own life. My role isn’t to diagnose you or hand you a plan, but to offer a calm, confidential hour where you can think out loud, feel what you feel, and be met without judgement. For many people in Hillingdon that hour becomes the one part of the week that is genuinely theirs, a space to put things down and make sense of them at your own pace.
What people bring to counselling
- Anxiety, stress and low mood, feeling overwhelmed, on edge, or not quite yourself.
- Relationship and couple difficulties, as a Couple Counselling Practitioner I work with partners as well as individuals.
- Grief and bereavement, a loss that’s recent, or one that has resurfaced years later.
- Work and life changes, burnout, a difficult transition, or simply feeling stuck.
Getting to sessions from Hillingdon
Being close to home matters when you’re committing to weekly sessions, and Hillingdon is genuinely on the doorstep of the practice. Hillingdon Underground (Metropolitan & Piccadilly lines) is a single stop from Uxbridge; the U1, U2 and U10 buses run through the area; and the A40 is close by, so it’s usually a five-to-ten-minute drive from Hillingdon Heath, North Hillingdon, Long Lane or Hillingdon Circus. If you work at or near Hillingdon Hospital, an early-evening session is often easy to fit around a shift.
Sessions, fees and your free first call
Individual sessions are 50 minutes (£70) and couples sessions are 60 minutes (£95), held weekly or fortnightly to begin with, for as long or as short a time as feels right. There’s no need to decide anything straight away: we start with a free, no-obligation 20-minute telephone consultation so you can ask questions and get a feel for how I work before booking a first session.
Whatever you’re facing, there’s a way in
You’re welcome to explore the areas I work with most often: relationship and couples counselling, anxiety, stress and self-esteem, grief and bereavement, and work and career wellbeing. I also offer specialist, trauma-informed support for survivors of domestic abuse. If you’re just outside Hillingdon, I see people from neighbouring Cowley, Hayes and West Drayton too.
