Divorce counselling in Uxbridge offers a compassionate, steadying space when a relationship is ending or you're trying to decide whether it should. As a person-centred counsellor (MBACP) and Couple Counselling Practitioner, I support individuals and couples through separation and divorce across Uxbridge, Hillingdon and West London, and online across the UK.

Separation can stir up everything at once, grief, relief, anger, fear, guilt, and the daily weight of practical change. There's no right way to feel and no timetable to keep to. Whether you want help parting with as much care as possible, or a quiet space to grieve and find solid ground again, I'll meet you exactly where you are.

When separation & divorce counselling can help

You don't have to wait until everything's been decided. Counselling can help whether you're still weighing it up, in the thick of an ending, or trying to find your feet on the other side.

Still deciding whether to stay or go

You've been round and round the same question for months and can't seem to land. Counselling gives you a neutral space to think it through honestly, without being pushed either way.

Wanting to part with as little damage as possible

You've reached the end, but you'd rather separate kindly than tear everything apart, especially where children or years of shared life are involved. We can think about how to do this with as much care and dignity as you can manage.

Grieving a future that won't happen now

Even when ending it is the right call, there's a real loss in it, the plans, the shared life, the version of the future you'd both pictured. That grief deserves space, not a brave face.

Co-parenting once you're living apart

You're no longer a couple, but you're still a mum and dad together. We can work towards a calmer, more workable way of parenting across two homes, with the children's needs at the centre.

Not quite knowing who you are on your own

After years partly defined by the relationship, the quiet question is 'who am I now?' This is a chance to rediscover your own routines, wants and sense of self, and to imagine what this next chapter could hold.

Reeling from how sudden it all feels

Whether you chose this or it landed on you, the early weeks can be chaos, practically and emotionally. We can help you steady yourself, one step at a time, while the dust settles.

How person-centred separation counselling works

Person-centred counselling means I won't push you towards staying or leaving, and I won't take sides. Whether you come alone or together, my role is to offer a calm, non-judgemental space where every feeling is allowed, and to help you hear yourself clearly enough to move forward in the way that's right for you.

We go at your pace; there's no rush through grief or decision-making. Where words run out, as they often do with loss, I gently bring in creative and reflective work. At Go Well Services, counselling and creativity meet, giving you other ways to express what's hard to put into words.

Frequently asked questions

Where do you offer separation and divorce counselling?
In person in Uxbridge (UB8/UB10), within easy reach of Hillingdon, Ickenham, Ruislip, Eastcote, Hayes, Cowley and West Drayton. Online appointments are also available across the UK via secure video or telephone, which many people find easier during an upheaval.
Can we come together if we're separating?
Yes. Some couples come together to separate as kindly as possible, particularly when there are children; others come individually for their own support. Both are welcome, and we'll find the format that fits.
How many sessions will I need?
There's no set number, grief and big decisions don't follow a schedule. Sessions are usually weekly and last 50 minutes, and we review together regularly so you stay in control of the pace.
How much does divorce counselling cost?
Divorce counselling is £70 for a 50-minute individual session, or £95 for a 60-minute session for couples. You're welcome to a free, no-obligation 20-minute telephone session to start with. Five-session packages that save £25 are also available; see fees & sessions for full details.
Are you registered and insured?
Yes, I'm a registered member of the BACP and work to the BACP Ethical Framework, and I'm also a member of the BAATN. You're in safe, accountable hands.
Will you try to talk us back together, or push us apart?
Neither. As a person-centred counsellor I don't hand out verdicts. Whether you're in Uxbridge or joining online, I'll help you understand what's happening so the decisions you make are genuinely your own.
How do I get to your separation and divorce counselling room in Uxbridge?
My room is in Uxbridge (UB8), close to the town centre and Uxbridge Underground (Metropolitan & Piccadilly lines), with parking nearby. If travelling in is tricky, I am available online across the UK by secure video or telephone.
Do you see clients face to face outside Uxbridge?

No, all face-to-face separation and divorce counselling takes place from my private room in Uxbridge (UB8). Clients travel to me from across Hillingdon, including Hillingdon, Cowley, West Drayton, Yiewsley, Hayes and Ruislip.

If getting to Uxbridge is difficult, I also offer counselling online or by telephone anywhere in the UK.

Can we have separation counselling in Uxbridge together?
We can. Some couples come to separation counselling in Uxbridge together to part with care, especially where children are involved; others come individually. Either is fine.
“Lydia gave me room to fall apart and then slowly put myself back together. I left each session feeling a little more like myself again.”
