Marriage Counselling Uxbridge, Couples Therapy, Relationship Counselling, in person, online or by telephone

Marriage counselling in Uxbridge offers you and your husband or wife a calm, confidential space to tend to your relationship, together. As a person-centred counsellor (MBACP) and Couple Counselling Practitioner, I work with married couples across Uxbridge, Hillingdon and West London, and online across the UK, whatever stage your marriage is at.

Long marriages carry a lot: shared history, children, routines, and old hurts that never quite got aired. Whether you're weathering a particular storm or simply feel more like housemates than partners, marriage counselling gives you both room to speak honestly and to be heard, without it becoming a battle over who's right.

When marriage counselling can help

Couples seek marriage counselling at every stage, newly married, decades in, or somewhere in between. You don't need to be on the brink of separating to come; wanting to feel close again, or to face something difficult side by side rather than alone, is reason enough.

You've grown in different directions

Over the years you've each changed, and the people who married aren't quite the people you are now. You want to find each other again rather than keep quietly growing apart.

The closeness has faded

Affection and intimacy have slipped away after years together, and you miss being wanted, not just needed. You'd like to feel like partners again, not a married couple who simply share a roof.

Recovering from an affair

An affair or a betrayal has fractured the trust your marriage was built on. You're unsure whether it can be repaired, but you're not ready to give up on it yet.

Stuck in the same argument

The same disagreement surfaces again and again, money, the children, whose family, who does more, and however hard you both try, it never quite settles.

More household than marriage

Between work, children and the endless logistics, married life has shrunk to lists and handovers. You're a brilliant team at running a home, but you've lost the couple at the centre of it.

At a crossroads

You're weighing up whether to recommit and rebuild, or whether it's time to think honestly about parting. You want a calm, even-handed space to work that out together, kindly, whatever you decide.

How person-centred marriage counselling works

Person-centred marriage counselling means I don't take sides and I won't tell you whether to stay or go. My job is to help both of you feel genuinely heard, to slow the hard conversations down, and to make it safe to say the things that have gone unsaid, sometimes for years.

The direction is yours. Some couples come to repair and reconnect; others to make sense of where things stand. Where talking alone reaches its limits, I gently introduce creative and reflective work, at Go Well Services, counselling and creativity meet, opening up new ways to understand each other.

Frequently asked questions

Where do you offer marriage counselling?
In person in Uxbridge (UB8/UB10), easily reached from Hillingdon, Ickenham, Ruislip, Eastcote, Hayes, Cowley and West Drayton. Online appointments are also available across the UK via secure video or telephone, if that's simpler for you both.
Do both of us need to come to every session?
Most of the time we work with both of you together, because that's where the marriage lives. Now and then an individual session can help, and we'd always agree that openly between the three of us first.
How long does marriage counselling take?
There's no fixed number of sessions. Some couples come for a focused stretch; others for longer. Sessions are usually weekly and last 60 minutes, and we review together regularly so the pace stays yours.
How much does marriage counselling cost?
Marriage counselling is £95 for a 60-minute session, and you're welcome to a free, no-obligation 20-minute telephone session to start with. Five-session packages that save £25 are also available; see fees & sessions for full details.
Are you registered and insured?
Yes, I'm a registered member of the BACP and work to the BACP Ethical Framework, and I'm also a member of the BAATN. You're in safe, accountable hands.
Is it too late for marriage counselling if things are really strained?
It's rarely too late to be heard properly. Even when things feel stuck, marriage counselling in Uxbridge can help you both understand what's happened and decide, with care, what you want to do about it.
How do I get to your marriage counselling room in Uxbridge?
My room is in Uxbridge (UB8), close to the town centre and Uxbridge Underground (Metropolitan & Piccadilly lines), with parking nearby. If travelling in is tricky, I am available online across the UK by secure video or telephone.
Do you see clients face to face outside Uxbridge?

No, all face-to-face marriage counselling takes place from my private room in Uxbridge (UB8). Clients travel to me from across Hillingdon, including Hillingdon, Ickenham, Cowley, Ruislip, Eastcote and Denham.

If getting to Uxbridge is difficult, I also offer counselling online or by telephone anywhere in the UK.

Is marriage counselling in Uxbridge confidential?
Yes. Everything we discuss in marriage counselling in Uxbridge is confidential and held to the BACP Ethical Framework, with the usual limited exceptions we’ll talk through at the start.
“After eighteen years we'd stopped really talking. A handful of sessions with Lydia reminded us why we chose each other in the first place.”
