Anxiety, Stress & Self

Counselling for Low Mood & Depression in Uxbridge

A gentle, unhurried space to be met in the heaviness, to feel less alone with low mood, and to find small flickers of warmth and meaning again.

Depression Counselling Uxbridge, Counselling for Low Mood, Depression Therapy, in person, online or by telephone

Depression counselling in Uxbridge offers a warm, judgement-free space when life feels grey, heavy or simply too much. As a person-centred counsellor (MBACP) with more than fifteen years' experience, I sit alongside people across Uxbridge, Hillingdon and West London, and online across the UK, offering gentle support, not clinical treatment.

Low mood can flatten everything: the things you once enjoyed lose their colour, getting through the day takes all you have, and it can be hard to believe anything will shift. You don't have to explain it perfectly or arrive with the right words. I'll meet you exactly where you are, at whatever pace you can manage, and help you feel a little less alone in it.

When counselling for low mood can help

Low mood and depression look different for everyone, and you don't need a diagnosis or a reason that 'makes sense' to reach out. If any of this feels familiar, you're welcome here, just as you are.

A grey, heavy fog

A low, leaden feeling that settles over everything and won't quite lift, even on the days when nothing in particular seems to be wrong.

Nothing feels worth it

Things you used to enjoy now feel flat, distant or pointless, and it's hard to find much to look forward to from one day to the next.

Leaden and slowed right down

Everyday tasks feel like wading through treacle, and simply getting going in the morning can take everything you've got.

Sleep and appetite all over the place

Sleeping far too much or lying awake exhausted, and eating more or less than usual without quite noticing it happening.

Quietly pulling away

Cancelling plans, leaving messages unanswered and retreating from the very people who'd want to be there for you.

A relentless inner critic

A harsh inner voice that calls you a failure or a burden, turning small setbacks into proof that something is wrong with you.

How person-centred support for low mood works

Person-centred counselling means I won't diagnose you, label you or tell you how you should feel. I offer gentle, person-centred support rather than CBT or medical treatment, a warm, accepting space where you can be honest about the heaviness and be met with real understanding. Often, simply not having to carry it alone begins to ease things.

There's no pressure and no agenda but yours. We move slowly, making room for whatever you're feeling, and find ways to reconnect with small sources of warmth and meaning. When words feel like too much, I gently bring in creative and reflective ways of working, because Go Well Services is a space where counselling and creativity meet.

“Everything had gone grey and I couldn't see a way through. Lydia never rushed me or tried to fix me, she just sat with me in it until, very slowly, a bit of colour came back.”
